Welcome to Riverside International Church Porto!
We are a non-denominational Christian church with an international English-speaking congregation, located in Porto and its neighboring areas. We extend an open invitation and a warm welcome to everyone, whether you're a local resident, a student, a visitor, or simply in Portugal for any reason.
Sunday School
Bring your children along as Sunday school is held every Sunday, during the morning service. Scripture makes clear to us Jesus’ attitude toward children. “Jesus said, ‘Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.’” (Matt. 19:14)
Teen Group
Riverside Porto Church Teen Group meets every other week. It is a safe and fun place where middle and high school students come together and grow in Christian faith and understanding. This helps them be prepared to withstand the storms of peer pressure, doubts, insecurities, and life-changing decisions.
Young Adult Group
Young adults are in their twenties to mid-thirties who represent diverse cultural, racial, ethnic, educational, social, political, and spiritual backgrounds. They are college students, workers, and professionals; they are single or married, with or without children. Through leadership development, networking across the church, gathering online and in person, and offering support, we strive to create a community of leaders and young adults engaged in mission and ministry together.
Ladies Bible Study
Ladies Bible Studies are a place for women of all ages and stages to study the Bible together in a community. During every meeting we become equipped with an understanding of who God is and why that matters. Meetings are held every Saturday from 14:00 to 16:00.
Devoted Marriage Ministry
Whether your marriage is currently in a good place and you aspire for it to become even better, or you find yourself in a challenging situation and are searching for hope, the Devoted Marriage Ministry at Riverside Porto stands as a safe place to grow in your marriage. Each month we gather together for a themed potluck dinner, where we collectively enjoy a sit-down meal centered around a specific cuisine. The gathering takes place on the 3rd Wednesday of each month at 19:00, led by Matt and Lauren McNeil.
Holy Communion
We celebrate holy communion during the service, every 1st Sunday of the month. Communion is a sacred time of fellowship with God, where believers remember Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross. In this unique time of worship, we commemorate the Lord’s death accompanied by partaking of a small piece of bread and sip of wine (we use grape juice).
Praise and Worship
There are different ways to praise the Lord. Music is one of those ways. We sing praise and worship songs to share the love of Christ and to strengthen our faith as we are reminded of the love God has for us and that he is in control.
